How to read these ratings
- Google rating and count. Most established local companies sit between 4.8 and 5.0. Look at the number of reviews and how recent they are, not just the stars.
- BBB grade. A letter grade (A+ to F) driven mainly by complaint history and how complaints were answered. It is not a customer review score.
- BBB accreditation. A paid membership with BBB standards. "No" does not mean a problem.
- Yelp. Often few reviews in the Boise area, so a single review can swing the average. We show Yelp only where we could read it.
How we compiled this
Ratings, review counts, BBB grades and the review quotes were checked on November 4, 2026 from public Google, Yelp and BBB pages. Services and highlights come from each company's website or from reviews and are labeled by source. Ratings change constantly, so check the live pages before you decide. We are not affiliated with any company listed, no company paid to be included, and this list is not an endorsement. Companies are ordered by Google review count. Where we could not confirm something, we left it blank.

How to choose a pest control company
- ☐ Check the license. Ask for the applicator's Idaho license number and confirm it with the ISDA applicator license lookup.
- ☐ Name the pest. Ask what they think it is and how the treatment targets it. Termites, bed bugs and rodents need different methods than general spraying.
- ☐ Get the plan in writing. Visit frequency, price per visit, initial-visit fee and what is covered.
- ☐ Read the contract terms. Auto-renewal, cancellation fees and how to cancel.
- ☐ Ask about re-treatments. Are callbacks between visits free?
- ☐ Look past the stars. Read recent critical reviews and the BBB complaint history, and see how the company responded.

Frequently asked questions
Is a 5.0 Google rating better than a 4.9?+
Not in any meaningful way. Between companies with hundreds or thousands of reviews, a 0.1-star difference is noise. Review count, how recent the reviews are, and how a company answers its critical reviews tell you more.
Why does a company have a high Google rating but a low BBB grade?+
They measure different things. Google stars are customer reviews. A BBB letter grade is based mostly on complaint volume, how complaints were handled, and time in business. A company can have many happy reviewers and still have unresolved complaints on file, so it is worth reading both.
Does BBB accreditation mean a company is better?+
Accreditation means the business applied, pays a fee and agreed to BBB standards. Many good companies are not accredited. Treat it as one signal, alongside the complaint history on the BBB profile.
How do I check that a Boise pest control company is licensed?+
Idaho pesticide applicators are licensed by the Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA). Ask for the technician's license number and look it up with the ISDA applicator lookup at https://applicatorlicensing.isda.idaho.gov/Applicator/LookupApplicator.
Should I sign a yearly pest control contract?+
Read the terms first. Ask whether the plan renews automatically, whether there is an early-cancellation fee, and whether re-treatments between visits are free. Several Treasure Valley companies offer plans without fixed contracts, so it is worth asking.
